VMware Horizon View 7.0.1 to 7.1.0 Upgrade
You will need to initially download VMware Horizon from here. I’m running this in a lab environment so I have a very simple setup of a connection server and a Windows 10 VDI machine. I have downloaded the Horizon 7.1.0 Connection Server (64-bit) exe from the page above on to my connection server.
You can now follow the installation as below –
Accept the EULA –
Select the Installation Directory –
When you have upgraded the VMware Horizon 7 Connection Server, If you login to the VMware Horizon 7 Administrator portal you will see that the status of the desktop pool will be ‘Waiting for Agent’ on the VM/VMs.
You will now need to login to the VDI machine, in my case this is only one Windows 10 machine. You will need to run the VMware Horizon Agent installation.
Accept the EULA –
Select the Network protocol of your existing installation.
You will now need to select the required features on the VM. These are the features that are present that will be upgraded.
Select the Installation Directory –
When the VMware Horizon Agent has been upgraded if you view the VMware Horizon Administrator you will see it changes the status to ‘Agent needs restart’, you will need to restart the VM to complete the installation.
When you have restarted the machine you should now be able to connect to the machine as per the below screenshot.
