VMware Horizon 7.1 Is Now GA!

VMware Horizon 7.1 was officially released on the 16/03/2017. There are many new features in this release to bring the platform inline with vSphere 6.5’s features. Reading through the release notes the following features have been added such as the following:

  • VMware Blast Extreme
    • Connections to physical machines that have no monitors attached are supported with NVIDIA graphics cards.
  • Horizon for Linux Desktop Enhancements 
    • RHEL 7.3, CentOS 7.3, SLED 12 SP2, and SLES 12 SP2 are now supported.
  • Instant-Clone Desktops Added OS Support
    • Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2 & Windows Server 2016.
  • VM Encryption
    • vSphere Virtual Machine Encryption (in vSphere 6.5) for full clone desktop pools is supported.
  • Security Enhancements 
    • Added Support for Hiding Domain and Server Information.
